7th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM AND CONFERENCE
Creativity For Sustainable Education
20 - 21 April 2020
Council for Creative Education (CCE) Finland cordially invites you to participate and explore the
Creativity for Sustainable Education.
From the year 2020, Council for Creative Education will be celebrating the World Creativity and Innovation Day in the third week of April. UNESCO has declared April 21st as the World Creativity and Innovation Day in the year 2018. It is followed by World Earth Day on April 22.
Considering these two important days, CCE has come up with the 7th Symposium on Creative Education focusing on 'Creativity for Sustainable Education'. We all are aware of the urgency to be addressed about sustainable development and education as a powerful tool to handle it.
For UNESCO, education for sustainable development involves:
Integrating key sustainable development issues into teaching and learning. This may include, for example, instruction about climate change, disaster risk reduction, biodiversity, and poverty reduction and sustainable consumption. It also requires participatory teaching and learning methods that motivate and empower learners to change their behaviors and take action for sustainable development. ESD consequently promotes competencies like critical thinking, imagining future scenarios and making decisions in a collaborative way.
Through this symposium, we expect to have a discussion about how creativity plays an important role in designing new tools for sustainable development, the methods through which teachers are bringing or can bring the awareness in schools, what policymakers are thinking about it. There can be many angles of discussion. Many viewpoints to argue.
Let's come together to discuss these vital issues for today and tomorrow on 20th and 21st April 2020 in Finland.
The symposium is going to be different where everybody will get to participate and express his/her viewpoint. We are coming up with paper presentations, Creative classrooms, and Socratic dialogues.
