International Symposium on Developing Schools Creatively

Council for Creative Education (CCE) Finland in collaboration with Potter's Wheel cordially invites educators to participate and celebrate the creativity in Education. This year CCE is introducing ‘International Symposium In India On Developing Schools Creatively’ dedicated to the advancement of the theory and practices in education. We have a group of world-renowned educators and experts in the field of education who will be presenting their ideas about the Creativity of Education and education system, in general.

 

Who can attend?

 

Researchers and Teachers (pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher section), principals, educators, trainers, homeschooling parents, students from teacher education are welcome to present their ideas of creativity which can be used in teaching school subjects. Any education enthusiast can participate in this conference. We are also encouraging government representatives who can present government educational policies and their research. Paper or Poster Presentation is not mandatory for attending the symposium.

Best Paper Award

 

Out of all received papers for the symposium, 3 best papers which are presented in the conference will be selected. These 3 people will get a chance to visit Finland to study Finnish education system for 5 days. If the paper is written by more than one author, then the award will be given to the principal author. The accommodation, school fees, workshop fees, lunch and snacks, transportation for school visits will be taken care by CCE. All the airfares, visa fees are to be borne by the awardees. The visa processing needs to be taken care by the awardees.

Presentation Formats

 

Call for Papers :

The participants are requested to send their abstract ( 300 words ) on any of the above theme or a topic related to creativity. The covering page should include participant's name, title, email  ID, phone number and name of the institute (if applicable). The abstract should reach us on or before  20th June 2019 on our email info@ccefinland.org with the subject "Your name-topic". The abstract should be sent in a word file. The author of the accepted paper will be notified by 25th June 2019.

 

Poster Presentations:

Guidelines for Poster presentation : Format: 300-word Abstract, Introduction, Method & Materials, Results, Tables & Figures, and Conclusions. Full Poster Size: 3’ x 4’ Border: 1/2 inch Poster Text size: Title - 80 pt., Sub-title – 72 pt. with author name(s), designation(s) department(s), Body text – 22-25 pt. Any clearly readable font can be used.

 

Creative Classroom:

A creative classroom is a 45-minute workshop in which participants will get the opportunity to present their creative ideas to the conference participants. 

The participants are requested to send their abstracts on any topic related to creativity in 300 words. The covering page should include participant's name, title, email ID, phone number and name of the institute (if applicable). The ideas should reach us on or before 20th June 2019 on our email info@ccefinland.org. The ideas should be sent in word/pdf form.(FileName as: name_title of the idea (e.g Albert Ellis_Creativity & Digitalization). The acceptance notification will be sent within 3-4 days after receiving the abstract.

*The word limit (300) is strict for the abstract. Lengthy abstract may be rejected.

Dr Helen Teague

Dr Helen Teague is from the United States and serves as a National Online Course Facilitator for PBS Learning Media, located in Virginia and Adjunct Professor for Grand Canyon University, located in Arizona.

Helen recently completed her doctorate (terminal degree) in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University in California. Her dissertation considered the integration of mobile technology, TPACK, and the design dispositions of online educators. While at Pepperdine University, Helen served as a research assistant and transcription manager for Dr Eric Hamilton’s NSF-sponsored mathematics education project based in four countries and three U.S. states. She holds Masters degrees in Educational Mid-management, Curriculum and Instruction, and a Bachelor’s of business administration.

Helen has over one million air miles visiting 49 states and four countries as a speaker, learning coach, and digital marketing consultant.

Dr Manish Kumar - MD & Chief Executive Officer of NSDC

Dr Manish Kumar is the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of National Skill Development Corporation. He is responsible for providing a strategic vision to NSDC in ensuring that the team moves cohesively towards the achievement of Skill India Mission.

Prior to joining the NSDC, he was working as Country Coordinator and Senior Institution Development Economist, The World Bank. He was Task Team Leader for USD 1.5 billion Bank’s loan to India for “Swaachh Bharat”. He earlier worked for the Bank in the Middle East and North African countries covering Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, Nigeria, etc.

Manish earlier served in the Indian Administrative Service, occupying many responsible positions, his last being Secretary to Government of Tripura, Power & Home Departments. As a field officer, serving as District Collector and Sub Divisional Officer, he was responsible for conceptualizing and implementing economic development tools for overcoming insurgency in Tripura. He was selected as a Mason Fellow at Harvard University for his leadership in empowering tribal women from remote hills of Tripura.

Dr Repalle Shiva Praveen Kumar 

Dr Repalle Shiva Praveen Kumar is an officer of prestigious Indian Police Service (IPS) of 1995 batch. He served in both international and national environments and showed exemplary leadership in resolving conflicts and maintaining law and order in sensitive regions of Telangana state and the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh. In a career spanning 22 years of police service, he held several important assignments with the utmost sensitivity, prudence, and exemplary courage.

Dr RS Praveen Kumar has been instrumental in transforming and impacting the lives of 200,000 children from the most disadvantaged sections of the society. Dr Kumar was awarded the first ever ‘Telangana State Excellence Award, 2017’ in recognition of his selfless efforts in liberating thousands of marginalized children from all forms of poverty and eventually placing them in the orbit of eternal prosperity and self-respect.

Dr Praveen is one among very few police officers from India who got selected as a fellow for prestigious Edward S Mason programme at Harvard University.

M.K. Sridhar - Member-Secretary, Karnataka State Innovation Council

M.K. Sridhar from December 2008 till date, working as Member-Secretary & Executive Director of Karnataka Knowledge Commission (Government of Karnataka) on deputation. The work profile includes visioning for building knowledge society, networking with experts, interface with Government departments, piloting certain innovative ideas, facilitation in policymaking and advocacy.

From the Year 1999 till 2008, he worked at Canara Bank School of Management Studies (Post Graduate Department of Management) Bangalore University, Bangalore as ‘Reader’ and ‘Professor’. Courses handled at MBA are Communication Skills, Managerial Communication, Marketing Management, Marketing of Services, Compensation Management, Business Negotiations, Training & Development and Business Ethics and Values.

He was a Member of the research team on ‘Developing Grassroots leadership in School Education Department of Karnataka‘ as part of ‘Indian Management Research Award, 2009 jointly given by Emerald group of publications, UK and All India Management Association.

Also, a member of the research team on “Internationalization of Small and Medium enterprises- Study of critical factors” funded by Korea Institute of Science and Technology.​

Ayşegül “Rosa” AKSOY is graduated from department of “Physical Education & Sports (PES) Teaching” with a following “PES Teaching” and “Movement & Training Sciences” master degrees; with continuing PhD. in the field of “Adaptive Physical Activity”. After her studies in Turkey, Portugal, France, and international projects she involved, now, she is more focused on “Technology Integration into Inclusive PES settings”.

 

Ms. Aysegul is the First Prize winner of Creative 100 contest organized by Council for Creative Education in 2018 for her project,’ Thinking out of box; Technology integration into preservice Physical Education teachers’ education on Inclusive Physıcal Educatıon’.

Ms Amelia Wildman - United States of America

Amelia Wildman is a PhD student in Curriculum & Education Technology at The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her MAEd. is in Gifted Education. Before moving to Virginia, she taught secondary social studies and English in Texas and has written curriculum for social studies, science, and English used in online learning. Her current research interests are in creativity, digital literacy, maker spaces, and teacher professional development. 

 

Ms Amelia is a young researcher in the field of digital education where she has developed the techniques for teaching History using digital technology. 

 

She is working as a subject matter expert and curriculum writer for OOPS. OOPS, LLC equips educators and small business professionals with "Just-In-Time" strategies to counter the unpredictable challenges or "OOPS" moments inherent in organizational management and technology integration.​

 

Ms Amelia is the winner of Creative 100 contest organized by Council for Creative Education in 2018 for her project,’ Harnessing Imagination through Digital Storytelling in the History & Science Classrooms’.
